South West Coastal Path - 600 miles

Here at Carlton Court we are less than 0.5 miles from the South West Coastal Path, where you can explore some of the 600 miles here in South Devon.  Walking straight down to the seafront when you get to Torre Abbey Sands you are on the path, and can either turn left or right and follow the acorn.  Left takes you along the marina, then up Beacon hill where you will see the acorn, follow along the pathway and then you will hug the coast line, past London Bridge Arch, Thatchers Rock, Hopes Nose and arrive on Babbacombe downs with its restaurants, bars and cafes to take in a well earned rest.

Alternatively, turn right on Torre Abbey Sands and head towards Paignton (3.3 miles), along a pretty flat route, from there onto Goodrington, Broadbands Beach and further afield to Brixham and Berry Head. From Carlton Court to Berry Head is around 13.5 miles.  If you don't fancy the return walk, then there are plenty of buses on all the routes to bring you back.  Many of our guests, either catch the No.12 bus to Brixham and walk back or vice versa.

For a shortish route, our favourite is to park at Broadbands Beach and then walk to Brixham its around 3.5 miles, it is hilly, but the vista certainly makes up for it. With secret coves along the way and crystal clear waters you could be anywhere in the world. Taking in the plethora of flora, birdsong and views (did we mention them already), we are pretty sure it will take your breathe away - literally!

We are able to offer a packed lunch (extra charge) clean your boots or dry your clothes should the weather not be so kind.
