English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark
One of Earth's extraordinary places

Did you know that when you visit Torbay - part of the English Riviera, that you are actually visiting a Geopark?  Torbay was awarded its status by UNESCO in 2007 and earns its tag line of 'one of earth's extraordinary places'.  It certainly is that, covering 62.4km2 of land and also 41.5km2 of marine area we think it's a destination worth exploring.  There are now 177 UNESCO Global Geoparks across 46 countries, with 8 being in the UK.  And we are very proud that Torbay is one of them.

Being situated in South Devon with rolling hills, Torbay's geology has created the stunning coastline which links the diversity of landscape and wildlife and also encompasses heritage, history, culture, archaeology and biodiversity.
