Reservations are generally accepted for any number of nights although bookings
including a Friday and/or Saturday and all bookings in June, July and August must be a
minimum of 3 nights unless otherwise stated. Minimum night restrictions may also apply
to Bank Holidays, the Festive Break and some online booking agents. Published offers
cannot be used in conjunction with each other or with any other promotion or discount
unless otherwise stated.
Pricing and Payment – Standard Booking
All prices are quoted per room per night based on two people sharing a room. Any
discounts applied for single occupancy are done at the management’s discretion. We
accept payment by cash, credit/debit cards, (excluding AMEX), and BACS. All prices are
quoted in Pounds Sterling.
Our prices are subject to change, are seasonal and reflect demand. All prices are correct
and subject to availability at the time of booking. Prices may change at any time without
prior notice and cannot be amended once booked.
Please note, if you have made your reservation with a third party (such as Booking.com,
Expedia, amongst others), your booking contract resides with Carlton Court.

You will receive an email confirmation of your booking. Please check this carefully – it is
your responsibility to contact us immediately if any details are incorrect.
To confirm a reservation, a deposit equal to the first night’s accommodation charge is
required. This deposit is non-refundable for stays that commence within 7 days. Deposit
payments can be made by bank transfer, debit/credit card. The remaining balance is
usually charged 7 days before arrival. For bookings commencing within 7 days of check-in date,
the full cost of the stay will be taken on booking. For
bookings which are made on a non-refundable option or for special promotions, full
payment is typically made at the time of booking unless otherwise specified. Please
check details of your booking conditions on the offer.
We also reserve the right to pre-authorise an amount equal to the remaining balance up
to seven days before your check in date to ensure a guarantee of funds available.
For group bookings, for 3 or more rooms, please check terms of deposit and payment at
time of enquiry.
Same day bookings
For guests who arrive and book in person for the same day, full payment will be taken up
front. If paying in cash, a pre-authorisation will still be taken on a credit card and
additional ID may be required and a copy held on file.
For guests not booked in advance we are required by law to collect the information
below. We do this by asking you to complete a registration form on arrival.

All standard bookings made are subject to these terms and conditions:
If your booking is cancelled or modified up to 7 days before date of arrival, 100 %
of the first night will be charged.
If your booking is cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price
of the reservation will be charged.
Days are counted from the official check-in time on day of arrival (3.00pm).
For non-refundable bookings full payment will be taken at the time of booking and no
refunds will be given if cancelled.
We reserve the right to charge your card, in the event of a no-show or should the
booking be cancelled. By entering into this contract you are authorising us to make
these charges without additional consent being required.
If you need to amend your booking after check-in, to terminate your stay, the total
charge for your stay will still be due.
Arrival and Departure
Your room will be available from 3.30pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged.
Check-in is from 3.30pm-7pm. If you require a later check-in please contact us in advance to
discuss your requirements.
Departure time is before 10.00am on your last day. Late check-outs may be arranged
before departure subject to availability.
Daily housekeeping takes place between 1000 and 1130. If we are unable to access
your room during that time, housekeeping services will be limited.
We are an adults only guest house, and can only accept guests over the age of 18
years. We reserve the right to ask for proof of age.
Single Sex Groups
We regret that we cannot accommodate single sex groups (stag or hen parties, birthday,
or wedding groups.)
General Terms & Conditions:
Guests are welcome to consume their own drinks in the privacy of their bedroom for
which we supply a fridge & glasses, or to purchase items from our Honesty bar.
The building is equipped with 24 hour recording CCTV in public areas for the safety and
security of our guests and premises.
Chewing gum is not allowed in any part of the building, grounds or garden.
Circumstances Beyond Our Control
We cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
These include (but are not limited to) adverse weather conditions, fire, riot, war, terrorist
activity (or threat of such activity), industrial dispute, natural disaster, or injuries and
death of an individual(s) through accidental circumstances unconnected with Carlton
By making a booking you are accepting responsibility for any damage or loss caused by
yourself or a member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss must be
paid to the provider upon demand. If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for
meeting any claims subsequently made (together with our own and the other party’s full
legal costs) as a result of your actions.
We reserve the right to charge for the replacement, cleaning or repair of any item(s)
belonging to Carlton Court, or the fabric of the house itself, damaged either wilfully or
because reasonable precautions have not been taken. In this event your credit card will
charged without prior consent being required for the costs incurred.
Fire Alarm Test
Our alarm is tested on Wednesday mornings before midday. Should you be on the
premises at this time, please evacuate the building as per our procedure.
we have a garden at the rear of the property which is available for guests to use to read
and relax. There are steps down to the garden and it should be noted that some of the
ground on the way down, and in and around the steps is uneven and not suitable for
people with any kind of mobility problem.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any travel insurance cover you have provides
adequate cover for your needs and for the duration of your stay. If you cancel your
booking, you will be asked to contact your insurance provider so please ensure you
Other than for death or personal injury causes by our negligence or misrepresentation,
our total liability to you is limited to the price of the booking and to the fullest extent
permitted by law all warranties are excluded and in no circumstances will we be
responsible for any indirect or special damages.
We will not be liable for failure to perform to the extent that failure is caused by any
factor beyond our reasonable control. You are responsible for any damage or loss
causes to us or our property by your act, omission, default or neglect and you agree to
indemnify us and to pay us on demand the amount reasonably required to make good or
remedy any such damage or loss.
On check in, you will be issued with 2 keys a key ring which open bedroom and front
door respectively. Please ensure the safety of your key ring at all times, and return it at
the end of your stay on check out. Failure to do so, to return keys within 7 days or loss of
keys will result in a minimum lost key charge of £25.
In the event of you needing to have a lost property item returned, we apply a £10.00
charge to cover postage and administration. This is payable by card, PayPal or BACS.
We will forward it to you by 2 nd class postage. If you want a different form of despatch,
we will supply a price on application. We do not take any responsibility for items being
damaged or lost in transit.
If you or any member of your party has a medical problem, allergy or disability which
may affect your stay, please call us to advise us so that we can make provision for the
particular need(s) of the persons(s) concerned, or advise you if we are unable to make

We have a free car park with enough spaces for 1 car per room. Please note, space or
turning can become tight if more than one guest arrives in a bigger than ‘average’
vehicle such as an estate or large 4x4 vehicle.
Please be advised that guests’ pets are not permitted in any part of the house or
As Carlton Court is an old property some sound does travel and we ask that you respect
the enjoyment of other guests. In extreme circumstances we reserve the right to
terminate a booking for unacceptable conduct.
For the comfort of our guests, and to comply with the law, we operate a strict no-
smoking policy throughout the building. Any breach of this policy results in a fine of
£200, plus we will ask you to LEAVE the building immediately. All related room charges
will still be due. Smoking is permitted outside, where a smoking box is provided on the
wall for the use of cigarette butts. This is located towards the front of the car park.
Please note that vaporizers and e cigarettes are included in the above smoking policy.
Sanitary bags are provided next to all toilets to dispose of any items other than toilet
